A community fridge for the Sycamore community hall: help our neighbors in Arusha
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a community fridge - we need $250 for materials.
🇹🇿 Tanzania1,077 views
For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a community fridge. This year a group of 26 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Sycamore community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $250.
It will serve about 568 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $250 goes:
• Materials: $220
• Tools hire and delivery: $25
• Permits and inspections: $5
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Hamisi.
It's all in the list in the story. materials is the big one at $220, I'll post a receipt when it's paid.
good luck, Hamisi. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. We're a small family in Cluj-Napoca but we're thinking of you
