A community fridge for the old Baobab bus depot: help our neighbors in Moscow
A community-led a community fridge at the old Baobab bus depot that will serve 190 neighbors.
🇷🇺 Moscow, Moscow, Russia1,488 views
For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a community fridge. This year a group of 19 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Baobab bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $1,150.
It will serve about 190 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in February and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $1,150 goes:
• Tools hire and delivery: $160
• Materials: $830
• Safety equipment and signage: $160
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.
