Quezon City
For five years the neighborhood has asked for a community fridge. This year a group of 26 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Pioneer Park, but no funding. We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $600. It will serve about 438 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in June and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $600 goes: • Materials: $400 • Permits and inspections: $40 • Safety equipment and signage: $65 • Tools hire and delivery: $95 I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to. - Teresita
