A community fridge: a volunteer-led effort in Fort Collins
A community-led a community fridge at the Sycamore vacant lot that will serve 351 neighbors.

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a community fridge. This year a group of 22 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Sycamore vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $870, and the remaining cost is $2,600.
It will serve about 351 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $2,600 goes:
• Materials: $1,650
• Permits and inspections: $195
• Safety equipment and signage: $370
• Tools hire and delivery: $385
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

you're not alone, Pedro. This could happen to any of us. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Blessings.
