A community fridge: a volunteer-led effort in Dallas
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a community fridge - we need $600 for materials.

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a community fridge. This year a group of 11 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Jacaranda bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $600.
It will serve about 325 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in January and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $600 goes:
• Tools hire and delivery: $155
• Safety equipment and signage: $240
• Permits and inspections: $205
