A college application mentor for Rutuja, first in the family to apply
Rutuja will be the first in the family to apply to university and needs someone who knows the process.

I'm Rutuja, 19, in my final year of high school. My parents work long hours and didn't go to university, so there's no one at home who can help me understand applications, deadlines or financial aid. I'd like to study architecture.
I have a top-of-class average, I volunteer at the local library and I have a draft of my personal statement. What I need is someone to read my essays, tell me honestly what's weak, and explain how scholarships work.
I'm looking for an hour a week until June. We can do it by video from anywhere. My mother will be at home during every call, and the school counselor knows about this request.
Thanks for reading. It took me a long time to ask.
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.
- effort
- 1 hour a week
- format
- Online or by phone
- skills
- university experience, essay feedback

Sending love. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Thinking of Mumbai
Hope things get better soon, Rutuja. This could happen to any of us. We're a small family in São Paulo but we're thinking of you. Thinking of Mumbai.
Sending good thoughts. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I have a 16 year old who wants to send good wishes too. Take care
Hope it all works out, Rutuja. Shared this with my family. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Thinking of Mumbai
rooting for you, Rutuja. As a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like
Wishing you peace. As a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. God bless.
Praying for you, Rutuja. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Thinking of Mumbai.
