I'm Marcelo, 17, in Year 12. My parents work long hours and didn't go to university, so there's no one at home who can help me understand applications, deadlines or financial aid. I'd like to study civil engineering.
I have a distinction average, I volunteer at the local library and I have a draft of my personal statement. What I need is someone to read my essays, tell me honestly what's weak, and explain how scholarships work.
I'm looking for an hour a week until November. We can do it by video from anywhere. My mother will be at home during every call, and the school counselor knows about this request.
Thanks for reading. It took me a long time to ask.
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

Thanks for sharing this. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. It's not much but it's yours. Take care
Wishing you peace. As a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Take care.
Best of luck. Hope this works out for you. Love from Houston.
Stay strong, Marcelo. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Thinking of Caruaru.
Sending strength, Marcelo. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Wish I lived closer to New Orleans so I could bring a meal. Love from Arusha
Wishing you the best. Shared it with a few friends. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend. Blessings.
