I'm Lily, 18, in Form 6. My parents work long hours and didn't go to university, so there's no one at home who can help me understand applications, deadlines or financial aid. I'd like to study economics. I have a distinction average, I volunteer at a food pantry and I have a draft of my personal statement. What I need is someone to read my essays, tell me honestly what's weak, and explain how scholarships work. I'm looking for an hour a week until October. We can do it by video from anywhere. My mother will be at home during every call, and the school counselor knows about this request. Thanks for reading. It took me a long time to ask. If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.

Perfect example of someone making a real difference. They took time out of their busy schedule to help me and never made me feel like a burden.

  • stay strong, Lily. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. All the best

    • Good luck, Lily. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. All the best.
