A college application mentor for Karanja, first in the family to apply
Looking for a graduate who can spend an hour a week reviewing Karanja's essays until May.

I'm Karanja, 17, in Grade 12. My parents work long hours and didn't go to university, so there's no one at home who can help me understand applications, deadlines or financial aid. I'd like to study economics.
I have a 3.7 average, I volunteer at an after-school program and I have a draft of my personal statement. What I need is someone to read my essays, tell me honestly what's weak, and explain how scholarships work.
I'm looking for an hour a week until May. We can do it by video from anywhere. My mother will be at home during every call, and the school counselor knows about this request.
Thanks for reading. It took me a long time to ask.
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Good luck with the exams, you've got this. It's not much but it's yours. Greetings from Pittsburgh
Stay strong, Karanja. Hope you get there. Thinking of Nakuru
Rooting for you, Karanja. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Thinking of Nakuru
