A college application mentor for Joseph, first in the family to apply
Looking for a graduate who can spend an hour a week reviewing Joseph's essays until June.

I'm Joseph, 16, in Grade 12. My parents work long hours and didn't go to university, so there's no one at home who can help me understand applications, deadlines or financial aid. I'd like to study civil engineering.
I have a distinction average, I volunteer at my mosque and I have a draft of my personal statement. What I need is someone to read my essays, tell me honestly what's weak, and explain how scholarships work.
I'm looking for an hour a week until June. We can do it by video from anywhere. My mother will be at home during every call, and the school counselor knows about this request.
Thanks for reading. It took me a long time to ask.
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

It takes guts to ask. Well done. We're a small family in New Delhi but we're thinking of you. Take care
Hope it all works out, Joseph. As a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn. My colleague had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Take care.
Take care, Joseph. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. All the best.
Stay strong, Joseph. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. I have a 15 year old who wants to send good wishes too. God bless.
