I'm Hadley, 16, in my final year of high school. My parents work long hours and didn't go to university, so there's no one at home who can help me understand applications, deadlines or financial aid. I'd like to study civil engineering. I have a top-of-class average, I volunteer at the local library and I have a draft of my personal statement. What I need is someone to read my essays, tell me honestly what's weak, and explain how scholarships work. I'm looking for an hour a week until April. We can do it by video from anywhere. My mother will be at home during every call, and the school counselor knows about this request. Thanks for reading. It took me a long time to ask. Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

Perfect example of someone making a real difference. They took time out of their busy schedule to help me and never made me feel like a burden.

  • Hope things get better soon, Hadley. Study hard! I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Thinking of Birmingham.

    • Thinking of you and your family. Shared this with my family. Wish I lived closer to Albuquerque so I could bring a meal. Blessings.
