I'm Emma, 16, in my final year of high school. My parents work long hours and didn't go to university, so there's no one at home who can help me understand applications, deadlines or financial aid. I'd like to study computer science.
I have a distinction average, I volunteer at my mosque and I have a draft of my personal statement. What I need is someone to read my essays, tell me honestly what's weak, and explain how scholarships work.
I'm looking for an hour a week until October. We can do it by video from anywhere. My mother will be at home during every call, and the school counselor knows about this request.
Thanks for reading. It took me a long time to ask.
Glad we found this place.

Thanks for sharing this, Emma. Hope this works out for you. After 21 years in public service I know how hard it is to ask for anything
So sorry you're going through this. Your post was clear and honest. Put this on a community board in Milan this morning. Thinking of Mannheim.
As a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Greetings from Vancouver.
Sending good thoughts, Emma. Your post was clear and honest. God bless.
Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. I'll check back for the next update. Love from Johannesburg.
Sending good thoughts. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier
Sending love, Emma. Education changes everything, hope you graduate with honors. I have a 5 year old who wants to send good wishes too. All the best.
