I'm Deepa, 16, in Grade 12. My parents work long hours and didn't go to university, so there's no one at home who can help me understand applications, deadlines or financial aid. I'd like to study public health.
I have a 3.7 average, I volunteer at the local library and I have a draft of my personal statement. What I need is someone to read my essays, tell me honestly what's weak, and explain how scholarships work.
I'm looking for an hour a week until November. We can do it by video from anywhere. My mother will be at home during every call, and the school counselor knows about this request.
Thanks for reading. It took me a long time to ask.
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

Hope it all works out. As a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn. Take care.

So sorry you're going through this, Deepa. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My husband and I read this together
