I'm Bích, 16, in Grade 12. My parents work long hours and didn't go to university, so there's no one at home who can help me understand applications, deadlines or financial aid. I'd like to study journalism. I have a 3.7 average, I volunteer at a food pantry and I have a draft of my personal statement. What I need is someone to read my essays, tell me honestly what's weak, and explain how scholarships work. I'm looking for an hour a week until October. We can do it by video from anywhere. My mother will be at home during every call, and the school counselor knows about this request. Thanks for reading. It took me a long time to ask. Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

  • Take care. Gave what I could, wish it was more. After 27 years in construction I know how hard it's to ask for anything.

    • You're not alone, Bích. It takes guts to ask. Well done. I went through something like this 13 years ago and strangers helped me out. Take care

      • Shared this with my family. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Greetings from Jacksonville

        • So sorry you're going through this, Bích. Education changes everything, hope you graduate with honors. I hope October is when things finally get easier.

          • Thanks for sharing this, Bích. Shared it with a few friends. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. God bless

            • Rooting for you. Hope this works out for you. Greetings from Newcastle
