I coordinate donations at Acacia Refugee Centre in Buffalo. Every year around this time we hear from families who have nothing warm for their children, and this year demand has more than doubled. We're collecting clean, gently used or new coats, boots, hats, gloves and scarves in sizes 2 to 14 years. If you're in Buffalo, we can arrange a pick-up or you can drop things at Acacia Refugee Centre on Friday between 10am and 4pm. If you're elsewhere, you may offer to sponsor a coat through a local shop - message in the comments and we can coordinate. Items go to families directly and the rest to the Acacia Refugee Centre clothing bank, which is open to everyone. Glad we found this place.

hope things get better soon. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I hope January is when things finally get easier. Blessings

    • Take care. This could happen to any of us. My cousin had a similar thing happen so this one hit home.
