We're short of hands for the Refugee Welcome Picnic; can you spare a morning?

Every year the Refugee Welcome Picnic brings together 576 neighbors in Ciudad de México. I help organize it with 11 other volunteers, and this year our numbers are down. We need people for set-up, serving, translation and clean-up. Shifts are four hours long and you can pick the one that suits you. Food and drinks are provided for all volunteers. It's a family-friendly day, and our goal is to keep it free. No experience is necessary - we'll brief everyone at the start of the day. If you can come with a friend, even better. Please say in the comments which shift works for you. I hope life is good to you.

  • Stay strong. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend. Love from Augsburg.

Sending strength, Claudia. Hope this works out for you. We're a small family in London but we're thinking of you. God bless

      • Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Greetings from Leicester!

        • You're not alone, Claudia. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. After 12 years in farming I know how hard it's to ask for anything.

          • Thinking of you and your family, Claudia. Gave what I could, wish it was more. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too

            • Rooting for you. Shared this with my family. It's not much but it's yours.

              • wishing you the best. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer.
