Quezon City
Since 2020, our volunteer team has run Neighbors' Pantry every Wednesday from the back of a community center. We started with 17 families, and now we feed 287 each week. Donations have dropped by about 46% this school holidays, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 18 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Quezon City market and keep every receipt. Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week. All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs. Where the $400 goes: • Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $120 • Fresh vegetables and fruit: $220 • Baby formula and diapers: $60 You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it. - Patricia

is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Patricia.

    • Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale) is $120 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page. Good question.

Keep going, Patricia. This could happen to any of us. Don't give up. Love from Sacramento

    • Is there anything that isn't money that would help Patricia?

      • Thank you. If you're in Quezon City I'll say if something practical comes up. For now sharing this is great. Thanks for asking.

    • Hope things get better soon. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. I'm in hospitality myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. Greetings from Berlin.

      • Great idea, hope you get there. Sent it to 13 people at work. All the best.

        • Sending love. Gave what I could, wish it was more. It's not much but it's yours. Thinking of Quezon City

          • Take care. Shared this with my family. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like.
