Weekly meals for families facing hunger in London
The the Second Helping pantry in London is running low just as demand rises; $2,600 will stock it for 8 weeks.

Since 2021, our volunteer team has run the Second Helping every Thursday from the back of the mosque courtyard. We started with 14 families, and now we feed 276 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 44% this summer, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 11 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the London market and keep every receipt.
Each $20 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $2,600 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $1,500
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $750
• Baby formula and diapers: $250
• Refrigeration and electricity: $100
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.
