Weekly meals for families and seniors in Angeles
The Open Hands Pantry pantry in Angeles is running low just as demand rises; $500 will stock it for 12 weeks.
🇵🇭 Angeles, Pampanga, Philippines739 views
Since 2021, our volunteer team has run Open Hands Pantry every Sunday from the back of the mosque courtyard. We started with 16 families, and now we feed 161 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 34% this summer, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 13 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Angeles market and keep every receipt.
Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $500 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $210
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $175
• Baby formula and diapers: $80
• Refrigeration and electricity: $35
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

Sending good thoughts, John Paul. Shared it with a few friends. Take care.
Hang in there. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. We're a small family in Tel Aviv but we're thinking of you. Take care
So sorry you're going through this. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Greetings from Mecca.
