The Union vacant lot needs a youth football pitch - Sohel's neighborhood project

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 17 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Union vacant lot, but no funding. We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $145, and the remaining cost is $150. It will serve about 286 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in March and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $150 goes: • Tools hire and delivery: $45 • Permits and inspections: $40 • Safety equipment and signage: $65 If you're reading this, thank you. - Sohel
