The old Unity bus depot needs a youth football pitch - Nicolás's neighborhood project
A community-led a youth football pitch at the old Unity bus depot that will serve 587 neighbors.

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 11 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Unity bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $2,400.
It will serve about 587 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $2,400 goes:
• Materials: $1,900
• Permits and inspections: $230
• Safety equipment and signage: $165
• Tools hire and delivery: $105
Thank you for reading my story.
