The Liberty vacant lot needs a free library and reading room - Noah's neighborhood project
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a free library and reading room - we need $2,450 for materials.

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a free library and reading room. This year a group of 18 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Liberty vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $1,400, and the remaining cost is $2,450.
It will serve about 486 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $2,450 goes:
• Materials: $1,700
• Permits and inspections: $140
• Safety equipment and signage: $170
• Tools hire and delivery: $440
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

Rooting for you. Shared this with my family. Wish I lived closer to Fresno so I could bring a meal.
You're not alone. I hope things turn around soon. I'll check back for the next update. God bless
Keep going, Noah. Your post was clear and honest. My husband and I read this together. Love from Southampton
