I'm caring for my father, who's 96. After worsening Parkinson's disease Suresh can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Suresh desperately wants to stay at home. I work 40 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer. Suresh worked all of his life as a bus driver, and raised 2 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back. Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for eight months will make a huge difference. Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies. Where the $500 goes: • Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $80 • Hospital bed and mattress rental: $40 • Part-time carer (eight months): $380 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
