In August I was diagnosed with cervical cancer. My oncology team at the Cầu Giấy Oncology Institute has planned 8 rounds of treatment, and the first starts in December. I was told to expect about 10 weeks away from work.
I never imagined I'd be writing something like this. I'm 56, I worked as a bakery worker until August, and I have been the main earner for my household.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, transport to the Cầu Giấy Oncology Institute 2 times a week, and the income I have lost add up quickly.
My family is doing everything they can, but we've already sold what we could and are borrowing for groceries.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $1,100 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $570
• Scans and lab work: $100
• Transport to the Cầu Giấy Oncology Institute: $100
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $70
• Household costs while unable to work: $260
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

It's all in the list in the story. chemotherapy and medication not covered is the big one at $570, I'll post a receipt when it's paid. It helps to be asked.
