Carlos is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying an electrical engineering diploma at San Diego State College, and is two terms away from graduating. He has worked as a barista to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $5,500. The registrar has said Carlos can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Carlos has a first-class average, and a department head has written in support. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Carlos would lose his place and scholarship eligibility. Carlos isn't asking for a handout - He wants to finish what He started and help the next student. Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees. Where the $5,500 goes: • Outstanding tuition balance: $2,500 • Final term tuition: $2,400 • Exam and lab fees: $260 • Textbooks and materials: $340 I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.

Wishing you the best, Eduardo. This could happen to any of us. I have a 13 year old who wants to send good wishes too.
