Mohammad wants to stay at home - help fund six months of care
Mohammad can't afford the care He needs after a diagnosis of dementia; we're asking for $550.

I'm caring for my father, who's 91. After a diagnosis of dementia Mohammad can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Mohammad desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 50 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer.
Mohammad worked all of his life as a schoolteacher, and raised 5 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for six months will make a huge difference.
The carer will be employed through a registered agency and paid directly. I'll share the agency invoices.
Where the $550 goes:
• Part-time carer (six months): $430
• Medication and prescriptions: $45
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $30
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $45
Thanks for being kind about this.

is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Mohammad.
Sure. The biggest one is part-time carer (six months), $430. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. It helps to be asked.
Take care, Ruma. Shared this with my family.
Thanks for sharing this, Ruma. I hope things turn around soon. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Take care
Thinking of you and your family. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. All the best
