Let's build a youth football pitch together in Jakarta Selatan
A community-led a youth football pitch at the Jacaranda vacant lot that will serve 580 neighbors.
🇮🇩 Jakarta Selatan, DKI Jakarta, Indonesia814 views
For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 17 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Jacaranda vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $350.
It will serve about 580 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $350 goes:
• Materials: $200
• Permits and inspections: $50
• Safety equipment and signage: $40
• Tools hire and delivery: $60
Glad we found this place.

Good news. Because of your gifts ($20 in total) I made the first payment toward materials. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
Thank you all. We're at 6% now ($20). I'm honestly stunned. the first invoice got paid this week.
