Let's build a community fridge together in Port Harcourt
A community-led a community fridge at the Cedar community hall that will serve 449 neighbors.
🇳🇬 Nigeria1,429 views
For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a community fridge. This year a group of 20 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Cedar community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $350.
It will serve about 449 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $350 goes:
• Materials: $155
• Permits and inspections: $55
• Safety equipment and signage: $65
• Tools hire and delivery: $75
With deep gratitude,
Rotimi

Gave what I could, wish it was more. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Thinking of Port Harcourt.
Sending good thoughts. Looking forward to the next update. My neighbor in Ciudad de México donated after I showed her your page.
keep going, Rotimi. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Don't give up
