Laparoscopic cyst removal for Weerasak: covering what insurance won't
After a large ovarian cyst, Weerasak was cleared for laparoscopic cyst removal, but the bill is more than we can manage.

Weerasak was diagnosed with a large ovarian cyst in June. The surgeon at Bang Khen Orthopedic Institute recommended laparoscopic cyst removal, and He is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,400, and after what my insurance will pay we're still $850 short.
my son has been in and out of Bang Khen Orthopedic Institute since June. The doctors say a large ovarian cyst will get worse without laparoscopic cyst removal. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,400 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Weerasak struggles with daily life and can't look after the children alone. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
The recovery period is expected to take about 8 weeks. During that time Weerasak won't be able to look after the children alone, so the costs keep growing.
