Kiprop wants to stay at home - help fund eight months of care
Help Kiprop stay in his own home with eight months of part-time care.
🇰🇪 Embakasi, Nairobi, Kenya1,200 views
I'm caring for my father, who's 88. After the death of his spouse Kiprop can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Kiprop desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 30 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer.
Kiprop worked all of his life as a schoolteacher, and raised 2 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for eight months will make a huge difference.
Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies.
Where the $850 goes:
• Part-time carer (eight months): $620
• Medication and prescriptions: $125
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $30
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $75

You're not alone. I hope things turn around soon. Thinking of Embakasi.
Get well soon. Put this on a community board in Quezon City this morning. Take care.
