I'm caring for my mother, who's 79. After the death of her spouse Kanokwan can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Kanokwan desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 25 hours a week and have cut back to look after her, but we need a part-time carer.
Kanokwan worked all of her life as a farmer, and raised 3 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for four months will make a huge difference.
Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies.
Where the $1,350 goes:
• Part-time carer (four months): $960
• Medication and prescriptions: $210
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $60
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $120

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Kanokwan.
Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. part-time carer (four months) comes first ($960) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. I'll keep the page updated.
