I'm caring for my father, who's 92. After a heart attack Jie can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Jie desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 25 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer.
Jie worked all of his life as a bus driver, and raised 2 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for three months will make a huge difference.
The carer will be employed through a registered agency and paid directly. I'll share the agency invoices.
Where the $2,750 goes:
• Medication and prescriptions: $380
• Part-time carer (three months): $2,000
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $370

Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. medication and prescriptions comes first ($380) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. Fair thing to want to know.
