I'm caring for my father, who's 78. After the death of his spouse Ricardo can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Ricardo desperately wants to stay at home. I work 50 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer. Ricardo worked all of his life as a schoolteacher, and raised 3 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back. Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for four months will make a huge difference. Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies. Where the $1,750 goes: • Part-time carer (four months): $1,300 • Medication and prescriptions: $230 • Hospital bed and mattress rental: $125 • Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $95 Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.
