I'm caring for me, who's 88. After a fall and hip fracture Joshua can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Joshua desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 30 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer.
Joshua worked all of his life as a farmer, and raised 4 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for four months will make a huge difference.
Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies.
Where the $2,850 goes:
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $300
• Part-time carer (four months): $2,000
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $550
