I'm caring for my mother, who's 78. After a diagnosis of dementia Eleanor can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Eleanor desperately wants to stay at home. I work 50 hours a week and have cut back to look after her, but we need a part-time carer. Eleanor worked all of her life as a factory worker, and raised 3 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back. Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for eight months will make a huge difference. Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies. Where the $2,900 goes: • Part-time carer (eight months): $2,400 • Medication and prescriptions: $270 • Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $230 Every share and every dollar helps. - Joseph
