Home care fund for Ariana in Gold Coast
Ariana, 86, needs daily care to stay at home, and the family is raising $4,950 for a carer and medicines.

I'm caring for my mother, who's 86. After a fall and hip fracture Ariana can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Ariana desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 30 hours a week and have cut back to look after her, but we need a part-time carer.
Ariana worked all of her life as a factory worker, and raised 3 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for four months will make a huge difference.
The carer will be employed through a registered agency and paid directly. I'll share the agency invoices.
Where the $4,950 goes:
• Medication and prescriptions: $470
• Part-time carer (four months): $4,200
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $280

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Ariana.
Sure. The biggest one is medication and prescriptions, $470. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. Fair thing to want to know.
