Viviane was diagnosed with kidney cancer in May. The oncology team at São Paulo Cancer Centre has planned 8 rounds of treatment, starting in August. She will be away from work for about 12 weeks. Viviane is 48, worked as a farmer until May, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to São Paulo Cancer Centre 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes. Where the $3,150 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $2,000 • Scans and lab work: $280 • Transport to São Paulo Cancer Centre: $240 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $195 • Household costs while unable to work: $435 With deep gratitude, Roberto

Updates from Roberto

  1. Quick update: $2,672 raised so far (85%). we've booked the dates and paid the deposit. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.

  2. Update from São Paulo: I made the first payment toward household costs while unable to work. We're at 48% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.

  3. Wanted to say thank you properly. 37% funded and I met with the treatment center and confirmed the amounts.

  • Sending good thoughts, Roberto. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it.

    • Hope it all works out, Roberto. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Take care.
