Caloocan
In July I was diagnosed with gallstones with repeated infections. My surgeon at Caloocan Regional Medical Center recommended septoplasty, and I have been placed on the schedule for September. The hospital's financial office gave me a written estimate of $1,500, and after what my employer's plan will pay, I'm still $1,050 short. Doctors at Caloocan Regional Medical Center told me gallstones with repeated infections will get worse without septoplasty. I work as a delivery rider, and I have saved what I can, but the estimate of $1,500 is far beyond what I've. Until the surgery I can't work full days, and my hours as a delivery rider have already been cut. Every week of waiting means more pain and a bigger risk. The recovery period is expected to take about 3 weeks. I'll not be able to climb stairs during that time, so this has become a financial emergency as well as a medical one. I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section. Where the $1,050 goes: • Travel and lodging for the family: $50 • Physiotherapy sessions: $75 • Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $420 • Hospital stay (3 nights): $410 • Post-operative medication: $95 I hope life is good to you. - Samuel

  • Hope things get better soon, Samuel. Wishing Samuel a smooth procedure and a full recovery. I'll check back for the next update. God bless.

    • thinking of you and your family, Samuel. Gave what I could, wish it was more. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it.

      • Hope it all works out. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I went through something like this 5 years ago and strangers helped me out

        • Best of luck, Samuel. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. God bless.
