Công was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in April. The oncology team at the Hồ Chí Minh City Oncology Institute has planned 4 rounds of treatment, starting in June. He will be away from work for about 8 weeks.
Công is 56, worked as a bank teller until April, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Hồ Chí Minh City Oncology Institute 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $1,050 goes:
• Scans and lab work: $170
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $45
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $835

It's all in the list in the story. scans and lab work is the big one at $170, I'll post a receipt when it's paid. Let me know if you want more detail.
