Citra was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer in January. The oncology team at Jakarta Barat Regional Medical Center has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in March. She will be away from work for about 5 weeks.
Citra is 41, worked as a primary school teacher until January, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Jakarta Barat Regional Medical Center 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $950 goes:
• Transport to Jakarta Barat Regional Medical Center: $125
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $550
• Household costs while unable to work: $275
