Help Atieno through 12 rounds of treatment for prostate cancer

Atieno is facing prostate cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Atieno was diagnosed with prostate cancer in June. The oncology team at Kikuyu University Hospital has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in September. She will be away from work for about 5 weeks. Atieno is 24, worked as a taxi driver until June, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Kikuyu University Hospital 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $1,300 goes: • Household costs while unable to work: $340 • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $870 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $90 Glad we found this place. - Kipchoge
