Susana was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer in August. The oncology team at San Miguel de Tucumán Cancer Centre has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in October. She will be away from work for about 6 weeks.
Susana is 44, worked as a primary school teacher until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to San Miguel de Tucumán Cancer Centre 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $1,150 goes:
• Transport to San Miguel de Tucumán Cancer Centre: $190
• Household costs while unable to work: $470
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $150
• Scans and lab work: $340
