Fighting stage 3 ovarian cancer: help Rahma afford treatment in Cairo
Rahma is facing stage 3 ovarian cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.
🇪🇬 Cairo, Cairo, Egypt540 views
Rahma was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer in August. The oncology team at the Cairo Oncology Institute has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in November. She will be away from work for about 4 weeks.
Rahma is 41, worked as a bus conductor until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Cairo Oncology Institute 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $1,600 goes:
• Household costs while unable to work: $320
• Transport to the Cairo Oncology Institute: $135
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $50
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,095
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.
- Hadi

best of luck, Hadi. Shared this with my family. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Blessings.
wishing you the best. Wishing Rahma a smooth procedure and a full recovery. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Love from Warsaw.
So sorry you're going through this, Hadi. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes.
thinking of you, Hadi. It takes guts to ask. Well done. We're a small family in Shubra but we're thinking of you. All the best.
