Fighting a rare sarcoma: help Lars afford treatment in The Hague
10 rounds of treatment are planned at The Hague Cancer Centre; we are asking for help with the costs insurance does not cover.
🇳🇱 The Hague, South Holland, Netherlands228 views
Lars was diagnosed with a rare sarcoma in August. The oncology team at The Hague Cancer Centre has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in November. He will be away from work for about 4 weeks.
Lars is 43, worked as a construction supervisor until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to The Hague Cancer Centre 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $10,400 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $7,250
• Scans and lab work: $1,100
• Transport to The Hague Cancer Centre: $440
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $430
• Household costs while unable to work: $1,180
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.
