Feed 89 families each week at the Second Helping in Hyderabad
The the Second Helping pantry in Hyderabad is running low just as demand rises; $400 will stock it for 11 weeks.

Since 2022, our volunteer team has run the Second Helping every Friday from the back of the parish hall. We started with 8 families, and now we feed 89 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 30% this school holidays, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 13 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Hyderabad market and keep every receipt.
Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $400 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $280
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $65
• Baby formula and diapers: $30
• Refrigeration and electricity: $25
I hope life is good to you.

is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Nimra
Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale) is $280 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page. I'll keep the page updated.
hope it all works out, Nimra. Hope this works out for you. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Blessings.
sending love, Nimra. It takes guts to ask. Well done. My cousin had a similar thing happen so this one hit home.
Praying for you, Nimra. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier.
