Since 2023, our volunteer team has run Neighbors' Pantry every Friday from the back of a community center. We started with 21 families, and now we feed 87 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 57% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 15 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Bucaramanga market and keep every receipt.
Each $10 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $450 goes:
• Refrigeration and electricity: $110
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $200
• Baby formula and diapers: $140
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.
