Feed 377 families each week at Community Pantry in Derry
The Community Pantry pantry in Derry is running low just as demand rises; $3,050 will stock it for 7 weeks.

Since 2020, our volunteer team has run Community Pantry every Monday from the back of the old library basement. We started with 26 families, and now we feed 377 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 35% this summer, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 18 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Derry market and keep every receipt.
Each $40 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $3,050 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $1,850
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $580
• Baby formula and diapers: $440
• Refrigeration and electricity: $180
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

Updates from Brooklyn
Thank you all. We're at 10% now ($295). I'm honestly stunned. the plan for refrigeration and electricity is now scheduled.
Update from Derry: I met with the wholesaler and confirmed the amounts. We're at 32% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.

Wishing you peace, Brooklyn. Shared this with my family. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Greetings from Mapo
