Feed 361 families each week at Neighbors' Pantry in Abuja
Help keep a free food pantry open for students and shift workers in Abuja.

Since 2019, our volunteer team has run Neighbors' Pantry every Tuesday from the back of the mosque courtyard. We started with 8 families, and now we feed 361 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 60% this winter, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 9 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Abuja market and keep every receipt.
Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $350 goes:
• Refrigeration and electricity: $35
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $280
• Baby formula and diapers: $35
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

Keep going. More neighborhoods should do this. All the best.
Wishing you the best, Dayo. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Take care.
More neighborhoods should do this. My husband and I read this together. Thinking of Abuja.
thanks for sharing this, Dayo. I hope things turn around soon. I'm in logistics myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you.
Hang in there, Dayo. Great idea, hope you get there. Thinking of Abuja.
Hope this works out for you. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Love from Nashik.
more neighborhoods should do this. Wish I lived closer to Spokane so I could bring a meal. God bless.
Hope things get better soon, Dayo. This could happen to any of us. All the best.
