Feed 317 families each week at the Thursday Table in Yonkers
Julia runs a volunteer pantry feeding 317 families; this fund restocks shelves for the summer.

Since 2019, our volunteer team has run the Thursday Table every Monday from the back of a community center. We started with 28 families, and now we feed 317 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 49% this summer, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 18 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Yonkers market and keep every receipt.
Each $25 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $4,000 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $2,050
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $1,300
• Baby formula and diapers: $490
• Refrigeration and electricity: $160

Best of luck. This could happen to any of us. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Greetings from Sherbrooke.
Hang in there, Julia. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My husband and I read this together.
