Jimma
Since 2022, our volunteer team has run the Harvest Pantry every Sunday from the back of a borrowed garage. We started with 13 families, and now we feed 245 each week. Donations have dropped by about 46% this harvest gap, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 20 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Jimma market and keep every receipt. Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week. All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs. Where the $250 goes: • Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $145 • Refrigeration and electricity: $50 • Baby formula and diapers: $55 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen. - Marta

  • Thinking of you. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Thinking of Jimma.

Sending good thoughts. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. We're a small family in Likoni but we're thinking of you.

      • Hope things get better soon. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Thinking of Jimma!

        • So sorry you're going through this, Marta. Shared this with my family. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. God bless.
